Two Janesville students expelled
JANESVILLE The Janesville School Board expelled two middle school students Tuesday.
One student was accused of physically harassing another student.
He or she is expelled through age 21 but can apply for reinstatement no earlier than September 2013.
To earn reinstatement, the student must get counseling, take any prescribed medicine, submit to random searches and comply with conditions of probation.
If reinstated, the student must continue to comply with these conditions and maintain satisfactory behavior, schoolwork and attendance.
The other student, accused of possessing a knife on school grounds, is expelled through the end of the 2012-13 school year. He or she may apply for reinstatement no earlier than September.
This student's conditions for reinstatement are the same as those listed above, but this student also must comply with the rules of the student's grandparents' home.
This brings to 12 the number of expulsions for the 2011-12 school year, compared with 13 at this time last year.
