Five Badger football starting times set
MADISON The starting times have been set for five of Wisconsin’s 12 regular-season football games in 2012.
On Thursday, UW officials announced home games Oct. 6 against Illinois and Oct. 27 against Michigan State would start at 2:30 p.m. and be televised by ABC. In addition, the Oct. 13 game at Purdue will start at 11 a.m. and will be televised by ESPN, ESPN2 or the Big Ten Network.
Previously, UW officials announced the Sept. 15 home game against Utah State and the Sept. 29 Big Ten opener at Nebraska would start at 7 p.m.
The Utah State game will be on the Big Ten Network.
The Nebraska game will be on ABC, ESPN or ESPN2.
Not Madison-bound
UW men’s basketball lost out on a recruit for the 2012-’13 freshman class.
Sheldon Jeter, a 6-foot-6 wing from Beaver Falls, Pa., announced he will sign with Vanderbilt of the Southeastern Conference.
Jeter had narrowed his choices to Vanderbilt, UW, Penn State and South Carolina.
