Mildred Scheribel, Janesville, WI  (1921 - 2012)

Mildred Scheribel, age 90, of Janesville, passed away on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at Our House Memory Care. She was born in Lake Forest, IL on March 22, 1921, the daughter of William Arthur and Margaret (Peddle) Metzger. She was a graduate of Holy Child Catholic High School in Waukegan, IL. Mildred married Myles G. Scheribel in Waukegan, on Nov. 15, 1941, and he preceded her in death on May 14, 1993. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s Club, Elks Ladies and several card clubs. She was a 15 year employee of Adams Elementary School, former PTA President, as well as Vice President of the State of Wisconsin PTA. She and Myles were members of Swinging Squares and were active golfers. She held offices at River-side and Blackhawk Golf Courses and at Del Tura Country Club, Fort Myers, FL, where they wintered for 17 years.
Mildred is survived by her two daughters, Barbara (Robert) Roth of St. Simons Island, GA, and Jan (Terry) Keele of Janesville; four grandchildren: Jeff (Linda) Roth of Miamisburg, OH, Jennifer (Troy) Augustine of Miamisburg, OH, Dr. Kevin Keele of Chicago and Keri (Aaron) Moore of Janesville; and six great-grandchildren: Alexandria and Ben Roth, Jack and William Augustine, Milanya and Livia Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Margaret Hubert; and two brothers, William A. and Richard L. Metzger.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2012, at ST. MARY’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Janesville, with Rev. Stephen J. Umhoefer officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the CHURCH. Inurnment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park.
