JANESVILLE—Julie and Brian Murwin celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with family and will be taking a trip to Pocono Mountains in May. Murwin and Julie Tobin were married April 14, 1984, in Edgerton. He is employed by the Walworth County Sheriff’s Department, Elkhorn. She is employed by Rock Haven Nursing Home, Janesville. Their family includes Becky and Jeremy Murwin, Janesville and Kelly Murwin, Monroe.

Andrea Venable and Steven D. Pease were married Saturday, March 21, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Northfield, Minn. Their parents are Nancy and Joel Bailey, Mike and Jennifer Venable and Steven L. Pease, all of Janesville and Molly Pease, Highlands Ranch, Colo. Amanda Olson, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Duke Damron, friend of the groom, was the best man. The bride graduated from Craig High School, Janesville, in 1999. She received degrees in textile and apparel design from UW-Madison and fashion design from The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), New York in 2003. She is employed by Target Corporation, Minneapolis. The groom graduated from Craig High School, Janesville, in 1999 and received a degree in journalism from UW-Milwaukee in 2004. He is a freelance journalist in the Twin Cities, Minn. The newlyweds reside in St. Paul, Minn.

Lisa Erin Salinas and Shawn Patrick Ray were married Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, in Madison. Their parents are Carole and Michael Salinas and Mary and Tom Ray, all of Janesville. Laura Kunz, friend of the bride, was the matron of honor. Brady Hermans, friend of the groom, was the best man. The bride graduated from Craig High School, Janesville, in 2000 and received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from UW-Madison in 2006. She is employed by American Family Children’s Hospital, Madison. The groom graduated from Craig High School, Janesville, in 2000. He received a bachelor’s degree in music in 2004 and a master’s degree in business management in 2007 from UW-Madison. He is employed by Madison Area Concert Handbells. The newlyweds reside in Madison.

JANESVILLE—Dawn and Roy Anderson will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows in Las Vegas. Anderson and Dawn Marie Deegan were married May 5, 1984, in Rome. He is employed by Seaquest, Mukwonago. Their family includes Shawna and Troy Hoefs, Fort Atkinson; and Sandi and Shae Anderson, Janesville. They also have two grandchildren.

Nelson and Peggy Gower were married May 15, 1959, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa. Both are retired from farming/Country Quality Dairy, Janesville. Their family includes Cheryl and Darwin Greenwald, Mukwonago; Ruth and Barry Nelson, Dali, China; Joel Nelson, West Allis; and the late Nels Nelson. They also have 11 grandchildren.

WHITEWATER/ST.GERMAIN—Pauline and Phillip Wayne Valentine will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends. Valentine and Pauline Kramer were married May 9, 1959, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sycamore, Ill. He is retired from the U.S. Army and Walworth County as a deputy sheriff. He is currently employed by CornerStone Builders, Eagle River. She is retired from Whitewater School District and as owner/operator of Valentine’s Country Charm, Whitewater. She is currently a homemaker. Their family includes Deborah and Craig Kaukl, Richland Center; Ann and Stephen Valentine, East Troy; Patricia and Kenneth Sommers, Elkhorn. They also have three grandchildren.

BRODHEAD—Nancy and James Thompson will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 24, at their home, 704 1st Center Ave. Thompson and Nancy D. Miedema were married May 31, 1969, at Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church, Clinton. He is retired from the Janesville Public School District. She is retired from the Mercy Health System Brodhead Clinic. Their family includes Kimberly and Seth Thompson, Grand Rapids, Mich.; Kym and Samuel Thompson, Denver, Colo.; Rachel Thompson, Ft. Wayne, Ind. They also have five grandchildren.

She graduated from Milton High School, Milton, in 2003 and received a degree in finance from UW-Whitewater in 2007. She is employed by Robert W. Baird & Company, Janesville. Her fiancé is the son of Laurie and Jeff Kersten, Janesville and Bernie and Michael Bergmann, Lordstown, Ohio. He graduated from Milton High School, Milton, in 2003 and is attending Blackhawk Technical College, Janesville to receive a degree in accounting. He is employed by Alfresco Café, Janesville.
