Maiken Westphal and Stephen Hylden are engaged and planning a Saturday, Jan. 5, wedding in northern Wisconsin.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Lynn and John Westphal, Janesville. She graduated from Craig High School, Janesville, in 2005 and received a degree from UW-Madison in 2009. She is employed by Westphal & Co., Madison.

Her fiancé is the son of Shelley Davis and Tom Hylden, Chevy Chase, Md. He graduated from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, Bethesda, Md., in 2005 and received a degree from UW-Madison in 2009. He is employed by Monterey Mills, Janesville.

Roehl and Giese

Chelsea Roehl and Max Giese are engaged and planning a July 13, 2013, wedding in Lake Geneva.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Christine and Michael Roehl, Janesville. She graduated from Craig High School, Janesville, in 2006 and received a degree in fashion marketing from Madison College in 2010. She is employed by Dansko Footwear.

Her fiancé is the son of Cindy Giese and Bob Giese, both of Janesville. He graduated from Craig High School, Janesville, in 2006 and studied sports journalism at UW-Whitewater. He is employed by the Winnipeg Jets NHL team, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Anniversary

JANESVILLE—Helen and Melvin Douglas celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a family celebration at home.

Douglas and Helen McKeown were married Nov. 22, 1947, at St. Patrick’s Church, Janesville. He is a retired farmer. She is a retired homemaker.

Their family includes Ken and Joan Douglas and Kathleen and Bill Schweder, all of Janesville, and Jim and Kris Douglas, Marion, Ind. They also have six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
