The Beloit School Board voted unanimously in favor of the 2007-08 budget of $86.6 million at a special meeting Tuesday night.
District Business Manager Kathy Mark says that represents an increase of about 5.6% over this year's budget. However the tax levy will be lower because of the school aid formula, which includes special funding for high poverty school districts like Beloit.
Mark says the levy will fall 6.2% to $13.6 million. That means the owner of a $120,000 dollar home in Beloit will pay about $130.00 less in property taxes next year.
