After a delay in selecting a city manager, it appears the City of Janesville might have a delay in selecting an interim city manager.
City Council President Amy Loasching says she offered the job Friday to a candidate selected by the council. Loasching says the offer appears to have caught the person off guard. Earlier this week, Loasching said the council's interim manager choice had not applied for the job.
She says if this person declines the job, the council will meet in closed session again to discuss its options. The council chose from a pool of four candidates. She says the council did not choose a second choice for interim manager.
The candidate will give Loasching their decision early next week.
