Milton names new HS principal

MILTON Milton High School’s new principal has a familiar face around the school.
The Milton School Board announced the hiring of Jeremy Bilhorn as principal at its meeting Monday.
Bilhorn, a social studies teacher at the high school, replaces Randy Refsland, who resigned in July to become superintendent of the Waupun School District.
Bilhorn had been hired to serve as associate principal of Northside Intermediate School in 2008-09. Instead, the district hired Keith Schneider, principal of Hustisford Elementary School, to fill that role.

Jeremy was a first year teacher my senior year of high school. Right out the gate he was faced with kids heckling & harrasing him - trying to 'break' him. He didn't 'break'. He took it all in stride, laughed at us for being so immature and that gained respect from his students. I am sure his first year as principal will be similar to his first year teaching - with people trying to 'break' him. Congrats & good luck!

I suggest the new Principal does a blessing of the High School, or those old ghosts will still cause trouble.....I can't remember, does anyone else remember which room it is that is the most haunted in the high school? Wasn't it the theatre or something???

cardtrader...quote - "This guy cant run a High School offense now you make him the Principle! You have got to be kidding me". That is offensive...quote - "Milton dont care about the integrity of the school only the bottom line". Direct insult on a mans integrity.

You have insulted and been very offensive to Mr. Bilhorn and you need to rethink those comments. An opinion is one thing but a shot at a mans integrity is another. Mr Bilhorn is one of the most compassionate person I have met. His ability to communicate and get the most out of kids ranks as high as anyones in the area. Milton made a fine choice with Mr Bilhorn and I wish him all the best. Now about his ability to run an offense...hmmm...how many conference championships did Milton win...I would say he did a fine job!

As far as Mr Pape goes I am sure as Mr Bilhorn he would have been another wonderful choice. We are very blessed in the Milton school district to have a group of very fine teachers and administrators.

In my opinion the school district made a wonderful choice! According to my kids, Mr. Bilhorn is a wonderful teacher and relates well with the students. Something, Mr. Refsland lacked. I always wondered where they found him. In order to teach kids respect, they must be shown it-and I believe we will see some positive attitudes in our High School with this change.

Sarah I have found out that these little chat rooms are not about being taken seriously, and as far as clean up my post what exactly did I say that was offensive? Everyone has an opinion and everyone has the right to express that opinion. Now weather or not everyone agrees with that well that is a different story. All I'm guilty of is voicing my opinion.

Does anybody know was Phil Pape offered this position? Or was he looked over. I just dont understand how they can give a position like this to a social studies teacher over an assistant principal. Somebody who has been working hand in hand with Randy refsland since his time with the school. Anybody have answers for these questions?

Cardtrader has obviously never met Mr. Bilhorn. If he had, he would know that Mr. Bilhorn is exactly the right person for the job. I am truly happy about this news! Congratulations Mr. Bilhorn!

Cardtrader~ I highly doubt that the offensive record of a high school football coach is any indicator of what kind of administrator he will be. It all seems like a lot of uneducated ranting to me. Jeremy Bilhorn is as dedicated of a teacher as a district could ask for, and I'm sure he will be a dedicated and responsible addition to the leadership team!

Jeremy Bilhorn was(is) an excellent teacher!!! Congratulations to him!! Where else do you think principals begin?! They are not hired right out of college, they are in the schools/districts for several years learning the ins and outs.

This is a great decision by the district. While there are many great people in the Milton Schools, Bilhorn truly was a dedicated individual who will put that passion to work for everyone. Excellent move to put him in a role to hopefully use his leadership in making a better community for everyone.

Mr. Billhorn was one of the best teachers I've ever had. He made class interesting and genuinely wanted to help kids. I believe he was who filled in when the administration was out of the building. (at least when I was in school) I trust him and look forward to sending my children to Milton High School! Congrats Mr. Billhorn!

This guy cant run a High School offense now you make him the Principle! You have got to be kidding me, there wasn't anybody with any experience out there to take over this job vacated by Refsland? Or was the city of Milton trying to save a Dollar? either way bad move

What is going on in Milton? Bilhorn does not have the experienc to do the job at hand. Just goes to show you Milton dont care about the integrity of the school only the bottom line. What about Mr. Pape if I where him I would be looking for a job in another district, talk about being crapped on.
