United Way campaign ready

WCLO's Stan Stricker reports on United Way campaign

The United Way of North Rock County is preparing for this fall's fund raising campaign.

Optimism abounds, as this year's co-chairs for the fund drive prepare to kick off the campaign. Vice President of Radio Sales for Bliss Communications, Mike O'Brien joins Janesville Gazette General Manager Dave Johnson in this year's effort, which will have a goal far short of last year, because of the loss of local manufacturing jobs. Johnson tells WCLO's Stan Milam Show this year's goal is $1.35 million compared to $1.7 million last year. Despite the challenges, O'Brien expects a strong campaign featuring a dynamic multi-media effort. This year's campaign will also include a strong web site campaign.

This year's United Way theme is, "Live United".
