A third incumbent has taken out papers to run for Janesville School Board. He is DuWayne Severson, the board president.

Five of the board's nine seats are up for grabs in the April 7 election.

Also taking out papers this week were Gregory Ardrey and Peter D. Severson. Both were appointed to the board last summer.

Another incumbent, Lori Stottler, is undecided about running. The fifth incumbent, Debra Kolste, is not running again.

DuWayne Severson, 51, of 56 S. Martin Road, would begin his third three-year term if re-elected in April.

Severson said he is not interested in remaining board president.

"Whoever is on the board is qualified to be president. I'm not really going after it for that. I'm just looking to serve," he said.

Other school district residents interested in running for school board should call Nancy Hewes, assistant board clerk, at (608) 743-5056.
