Life after GM
Podcast Episode
ROCK COUNTY While the GM plant was located in Janesville, hundreds of people, including many from Beloit, are facing unknown futures as the plant shuts down.
Beloit city manager Larry Arft says Rock County, Janesville and Beloit are taking a regional approach to finding something to take the place of G-M. He says a Department of Commerce grant is helping with a marketing and re-utilization study.
Arft also says as the local economy is rebuilt, it will look a lot different. He says instead of one big manufacturer moving in, we'll probably see many smaller companies employing around 100 workers fill the void.
