MILTON Milton City Administrator Todd Schmidt will receive a 2.5 percent raise as part of his annual review conducted by the city council Tuesday.
Schmidt, 33, will see his salary increase from $73,168 to $75,000. The 2.5 percent increase is in line with increases being offered to other city employees, Mayor Nate Bruce said.
The council met in closed session Tuesday to conduct the review. Bruce declined to discuss what the council talked about.
“They (council members) all had positive points to talk about, and the evaluation went real well,” he said.
Schmidt has served as city administrator since April 2003. Before that, he was assistant city manager in Brown Deer.
In Milton, he has overseen preliminary plans for the realignment of highways 26 and 59, a dog park, Crossridge Park (a collaboration with the YMCA) and downtown revitalization. Milton’s population has grown about 5 percent in that time.
In an April interview, he listed communication improvements, street reconstruction, creation of the Community Development Authority and creation of the Milton Area Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Tourism as some of Milton’s greatest accomplishments during his tenure.

Only 2.5 this year? What was it last year, 5, 6, something like that? Odd how it's only 2.5 in a contract negotiation year.
