ROCK COUNTY The U.S. Department of Agriculture is coming through for farmers in need of extra grazing land because of recent flooding.
U-W Rock County Crops and Soils Agent, Jim Stute, says this doesn't happen very often. Stute says interested farmers need to apply for the option at their local Farm Service Agency Office.
The program is not free. It will result in the loss of 25% of a farmer's annual rental payment. Stute says he expects some local farmers to take advantage of the offer.
