Based on a neighborhood input session, Janesville city planners expect a good turnout at a public hearing for a new cell tower at the county fairgrounds.
Gale Price, Manager of Building and Development Services for the city, says the new monopole design of the cell tower contributes to a favorable recommendation from city staff. He says if the county moves the fairgrounds, the cell company must remove the tower so the city can redevelop the site.
The city's plan commission holds a public hearing for the tower's conditional use permit Monday night, coincidentally the day before the fair.
