— A two-vehicle accident at about 5:45 p.m. Friday on the Rock-Walworth County line left a Janesville man and a Delavan family injured.

A pickup truck driven by Robert C. Benson, 43, Janesville, was westbound on County A when it collided with a car driven by Samantha E. Ellefson, 24, Delavan. Ellefson was southbound on County Line Road and pulled out from the stop sign, colliding with Benson’s truck.

Samantha Ellefson suffered serious injuries. Her passengers, Quentin Ellefson, 37; Brittany Ellefson, 11; Felicity Ellefson, 8; and Eric Ellefson, 10 months, also were injured.

Samantha Ellefson was flown by helicopter to Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee, where she was in critical condition late Tuesday morning.

The Janesville Gazette could not determine the hospital to which Quentin was transported. His condition was unknown this morning.

The children were transported to Mercy Hospital in Janesville, but their condition was unknown this morning.

Benson was treated and released from Mercy Hospital in Janesville.

Neither alcohol nor speed was a factor in the crash, said Sgt. Mark Roum of the Walworth County Sheriff’s Department, and everyone was wearing their seat belts. Samantha Ellefson was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

I am sorry to hear this. I hope you all recover. Couldn't the ticket have waited to be disclosed until her condition is stable? Just saying.
