Janesville house fire injures a resident

JANESVILLE — Janesville firefighters put out a hot, smoky fire at 1804 Beloit Avenue around one o'clock Wednesday morning.

A female resident was able to escape the blaze, but sustained serious injuries. She was transported to Mercy Hospital in Janesville.

The cause of the fire is listed as careless use of smoking materials. Damage is estimated at $50,000.
