Sheriff's Office investigates report of robbery

The Rock County Sheriff's office is investigating the report of an armed robbery late Monday morning at Jan's K-mart on county "K" west of Beloit.

Authorities say the female clerk reports a Hispanic male in his mid 20's about 5'-7" and 170-pounds threatened her with a hammer, and demanded cash from the till.

The clerk told authorities the suspect asked for directions to Rockford and fled west in a car.

Oh what a missed opportunity! Directions to Rockford: North on Highway 51 until the intersection of Highway 14. Make a right turn. Turn in the first driveway at the Rock County Complex. Its a large brick building, with small windows. You can't miss it.
