Beloit man dies in motorcycle crash

BELOIT TOWNSHIP — A motorcycle accident results in the death of a Beloit man.

34 year old Mario Calvin was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after nine o'clock Tuesday night. Town of Beloit police say Calvin was traveling at a high rate of speed when he struck the side of a pick-up truck turning from Riverside Drive onto Cranston Road. He was not wearing a helmet.

A portion of Riverside Drive was closed until around 2:30 Wednesday morning while the State Patrol conducted an accident reconstruction and the scene was cleared of debris.

The Rock County Coroner's office announced an autopsy would be conducted to determine whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
