Parker has two winners in Spartan Invitational

— Janesville Parker High’s Riley Grafft won the high jump (6-4) and Cody Speaker won the pole vault (12-0) at the Spartan Invitational at Mansfield Stadium.

The Vikings finished seventh in the 13-team invitational.

Craig boys shine at Burlington

The Janesville Craig High boys track and field team won five events en route to a third-place finish at the Burlington Demon Invitational here Friday.

The Cougars’ Ryan Ahrens won the 1,600 run, Joey Kennedy won the 400 dash, JoJo Pregont won the high jump and Greg Pedersen won the shot put with a career-best throw of 53 feet.

Craig also won the 3,200 relay with Ahrens, Alex Crandall, Matt McDonald and Kennedy.

Janesville Parker High’s Shelby Demos, a junior, won the high jump by clearing 5-6, and raced to victory in the 100 high hurdles with a season-best time of 15.0.

Parker’s Erika Moen was second in the discus, while the Vikings’ 400 and 800 sprint relay teams also finished second.

Meanwhile, Janesville Craig’s Megan Muhs finished second in the 3,200 run and Cassidi Running finished second in the 1,600. The Cougars’ 3,200 relay team took second place with Reginna Griffith, Kaitlyn Erdmann, Muhs and Ally Marshick.
