UW-Whitewater swept a doubleheader from visiting UW-Stevens Point to clinch the undisputed Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference baseball championship Monday.

The Warhawks defeated the Pointers, 13-3 and 15-8, to finish 20-4 and gain their sixth outright title in eight years.

In Game 1, the Warhawks collected 14 hits, including a pair of home runs from Kevin Zalnis and one homer each from Joe Munn and Billy Johnson.

Whitewater starter Aaron Dott (6-0) gave up three runs on six hits. He notched 11 strikeouts and walked five in going the distance.

In Game 2, the Warhawks won a wild affair that included seven errors. The teams combined for 27 hits and left 22 runners on base.

Whitewater managed 16 hits off five Point pitchers. Munns had four hits in five at-bats and a pair of RBIs. Jordan Stine went 2-for-4 with a home run. Stevens Point had 11 hits, including three home runs.

Whitewater starter Mike Jacobson (7-1) allowed seven runs on eight hits through five innings to gain the victory.

The Warhawks took a 12-3 lead after a six-run rally in the fifth inning.

Whitewater goes into the WIAC double-elimination tournament as the No. 1 seed. The Warhawks play No. 4 UW-La Crosse at 10 a.m. Friday at Wisconsin Rapids.
