— There was no letdown for Janesville Parker High School’s girls soccer team Thursday night.

Two days after an impressive 1-0 win over cross-town rival Janesville Craig, the Vikings took control early in a 2-0 Big Eight Conference win over Sun Prairie.

Kelsey Bysted and Catie O’Leary notched goals in the first 12 minutes as Parker improved to 11-3 overall and 4-2 in the conference.

“Coming off a huge game, I was really pleased with how hard we came out and played tonight,” Parker coach Matt Beisser said. “We dictated play right away and took care of business.

“We’ve got some big games coming up in the next few days, so getting this win tonight was important.”

Bysted put Parker on the board at the eight-minute mark on assists from Nicole Strieker and Ashleigh Busfield. O’Leary, on an assist from Bysted, made it 2-0 with 12 minutes gone in the first half.

Sam Anacker notched her second shutout in three days by stopping five shots.

Parker hosts an eight-team invitational on Saturday. The Vikings open with Beaver Dam at 9:30 a.m. Other teams include Delavan-Darien, Watertown, Westosha Central, Clinton, Cambridge and Fort Atkinson.
