West sweeps Craig tennis team
JANESVILLE Janesville Craig High School's boys tennis warmed up the task in the second sets, but the Cougars couldn’t keep visiting Madison West from sweeping a Big Eight dual, 7-0, Monday at Palmer Park.
The Regents won everything in two sets apiece as they evened their Big Eight record at 3-3 and ended Craig’s conference dual season at 2-6.
“The score doesn’t show it, but we hit the ball a lot better in the second sets,’’ Craig coach Gary Hallowell said. “We were kind of star-struck at first, then woke up.’’
The Cougars will get an early wake-up call Saturday for the 8 a.m. conference meet at Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison.
