— Susan Mehlert, the Milton woman accused of stealing from a Stoughton private school, pleaded guilty Thursday in Dane County Court to theft by fraud.

Mehlert, 43, of 9136 N. Raven Drive, Milton, was accused of stealing between $500 and $2,000 from student offering accounts at Martin Luther Christian Day School, where she served as administrator.

She was sentenced to three years of probation and agreed to pay $1,900 restitution, according to online court records. A second charge of fraud and a misdemeanor theft charge were dropped.

Mehlert has a different theft case still pending in Rock County Court. She is accused of stealing more than $1,000 from Hope Lutheran Church, 335 Dairyland Drive, Milton, while she was a member of the church council. She faces two counts of misdemeanor theft.

The case is scheduled for a status hearing Friday, June 20.
