— The 17-year-old Genoa City girl accused of killing a man in a November drunken-driving crash waived her right to a preliminary hearing Friday afternoon.

Krystal A. Hart is charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle, obstructing an officer and bail jumping.

Hart was northbound in the southbound lane of County H in Como around 2:45 a.m. Nov. 3, when her vehicle slammed head-on into a vehicle driven by 54-year-old Everardo Chimal Lopez of Delavan, according to the criminal complaint.

Lopez died about an hour after the crash.

Hart told police she had been drinking at a friend’s house in Lake Geneva that night, and a breath test revealed her blood-alcohol level at 0.12 percent, according to the complaint.

A marijuana pipe was found in the car, and Hart told police she smoked marijuana about 10 hours before the crash, according to the complaint.

While out on bond after being charged with killing Lopez in the November drunken-driving crash, Hart is accused of going to a party March 15 in Lake Geneva. Police said she gave a fake name and had been drinking.

Hart remains free on bond. Her next court appearance is Tuesday, June 10.

Rehab is not the answer for these kids, Until there ready to go on there own making them do it wont work. Mandatory Jail Time is the best answer.

She needs to visit a morgue or an ICU where a victim of another drunk driver lays dying. This gal is gonna have a great life ahead of her...rehab maybe? Jail in my opinion.

Where are the parents? A 17 year old in this much trouble and she is allowed out to another party. She needs to be in mandatory rehab. for her own good.
