— The Parade of Lights display, presented by the South Central Wisconsin Builders Association, has moved from its former location in Traxler Park to south of Hedberg Public Library along Main Street.

The display is open from 5 to 10 p.m. each night from Friday through Dec. 25.

The display is to be viewed from your vehicle.

No donations will be collected at the display this year, however, those who wish to donate to Rock County Habitat for Humanity may do so by sending a check on behalf of the Parade of Lights to Rock County Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 8204, Janesville, WI 53547.

For more information about the Parade of Lights, go to www.scwbaonline.com.

The Parade of Lights was moved to the new location because of the ground conditions at Traxler Park. The intent of SCWBA is to move the display back to Traxler Park in 2009. The parking lot between the Library and JPAC is large enough to accomodate the public to pull off Main Street to view the display. Unlike in the past, donations will not be accepted at the display as the location does not lend itself to that type of activity, however, SCWBA would appreciate any donations that wish to be made are sent directly to Rock County Habitat for Humanity. Special thanks to Doug Marklein of Marklien Builders for all his hard work and effort, Lucy Anderson of Kutter Harley Davidson Buell and Tom Wellnitz of Wellniz & Sarow Builders for their many hours spent on this project, as well as many other SCWBA members who volunteered their time to prepare and present this display for the public to enjoy!

I had trouble with the Sugar, Spice and Ice Fest link posted below, so I used tinyurl.com to shorten the link to: http://tinyurl.com/5a482a

I wonder why they moved the Display of Lights? Perhaps the electrical isn't totally repaired (or replaced) since the flood?

I agree that the side yard of the Janesville Public Library isn't a good location, but perhaps other places were asked and refused. I would have checked with the owners of the Pine Cone Mall (oops, I mean the Pine Tree Plaza) about using their shopping center parking lot, or possibly putting it in Riverside Park .

Does anyone have anything good to say about anything anymore?????? Stop complaining about everything and start being thankful for the things you have.

You pull off the road into the parking lot between the library and JPAC to view the lights, not by driving down Main Street.
Have you seen Traxler Park lately?? it's a big mud field now. I think the Lights will most likely be back there next year. I thought last years display with that big truck lit up and all the snow was the BEST yet. Sorry to whoever is so easily disappointed, life must be a series of troubles. Kudos to whoever (Builders??) volunteers to help add something nice to Janesville

Guess it's a little hard to get into the spirit of anything with the state of things being what they are. I will be sorry to miss the lights at Traxler Park this year.

The first couple of years they did this it was wonderful..in more recent years it has been a disappointment. Hope JPD is ready for an onslaught of accidents. Heck, why not just put it in front of the mall.

So how is this going to affect the Sugar, Spice, & Ice Festival. There were supposed to be carriage and hay wagon rides around the Traxler Park loop to look at the lights.

Why not do it at youth sports complex. They could still collect donations
