Grant helps Beloit College digitalize museum records
Podcast Episode
BELOIT Beloit College wins a $114,500 grant to convert paper records of artifacts at the Logan Museum into an electronic format.
Museum Director, Bill Green, says the idea is to make the records more user friendly. Green says a consultant will help set up the software, but 99% of the work will be done "in house." One of the benefits of the conversion will be to open up the museum's entire collection to "on-line" users.
The project got underway over the summer and is expected to be completed by December, 2009. Details of the project will be revealed during a presentation Thursday, October 9th, at 4 p.m. in the Morse Library on campus.
