The Rock County Board of Supervisors hears the county's budget proposal Thursday.

County Administrator Craig Knutson won't reveal the details of his proposal until the meeting, but says there are challenges. He says it's a more difficult process this year. When employment rates go up, demand for county services also increases. He says at a time when state funding for those services remains frozen, it puts more pressure on county finances. The budget proposal will go through various committees with a public hearing November 5 and adoption of the budget November 12.
