— A Genoa City teen charged in a Nov. 3 fatal drunken-driving crash pleaded not guilty Friday to violating her bond a second time by drinking alcohol.

Krystal A. Hart, 17, waived her preliminary hearing on the bail jumping charge and was ordered to stand trial. She also was cited for misdemeanor underage drinking stemming from the violation.

Hart is suspected of blowing 0.147 on a breath test in LaFayette Township at 12:30 a.m. Sept. 20 despite a court order not to drink alcohol, according to the criminal complaint.

She also is accused of drinking alcohol at a March 15 party in Lake Geneva, resulting in her first bail jumping charge, according to the criminal complaint.

Hart has been in the Walworth County Jail since Sept. 20 on $10,000 cash bond after the alleged second violation, according to court records.

She is charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle in the Nov. 3 head-on crash that killed Everado Chimal Lopez, 54, Delavan.

The most recent probation violation was reported by a Walworth County sheriff’s deputy who smelled alcohol on Hart, according to the criminal complaint.

Hart admitted to the deputy that she had been drinking, according to the criminal complaint.

Hart has pleaded not guilty to the charge of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and both charges of bail jumping.

She is scheduled to be in court Nov. 5.

Hart is expected to go on trial Nov. 17.

my kids (heck, even myself) - we didn't have silver spoons in our mouths, and we sure didn't have it easy. NOT ONE of us has even touched on the amount of illegal activities this one has. A tough upbringing is an EXCUSE, not a REASON for how you fail in life.

She doesn't get it, does she? Maybe it has something to do with the fact that her parents did nothing to stop her. She is still their responsibility, and they let her do as she pleased. Krystal and her parents should be supporting her victim's teen daughters, in my opinion.

Well, I also was verbally chastised early on, for commenting that there are "some people" that are NOT fixable! She is one of them and no amount of counseling will bring this man back to life, heal his family and return things to normal for his family.

I'm sorry she supposedly had a troubled life. Shucks, so did my daughters.. a drunk for a Father... an eventual single Mother trying to make ends meet... But my girls didn't take their frustration out on innocent bystanders and get drunk and kill them!

This young woman needs to be removed from society... honestly, I don't give a dang what happens to her, as long as she stays incarcerated for a very VERY long time!!!

So we should keep her in jail. We're letting people know that it's okay to drink and drive. So what she's had a troubled past? Who hasn't struggled here and there in life? So it's okay to drink and MURDER somebody... as long as you've had a rough life. And yeah.. It was murder, premeditated or not! I say we need to treat these kids more like adults and make them pay their time to society. It's almost embarrassing that she wasn't put into serious outpatient treatment (like check in with a probation sort of person) weekly. What other drugs may she be on too?

Sadly, she isn't the first. And the way it's going, I don't think she'll be the last.

Little brats like her make it so I am afraid to drive on Friday and Saturday nights because I don't want to be injured or killed because they want to go out and have fun! I am so sick of this, and someone needs to do something about this!

This girl makes me sick. I'm sick that she has this twisted point of view. Sick that she KILLED a man. Sick that she stills drinks and sick of hearing about her doing it. How could you go out for a fun night of partying after less than a year ago you killed someone doing the same thing. That right there tell you how little remorse she feels for what she has done. AND to plead not guilty to all of those counts just throws it in the publics face "HA I DONT CARE WHAT I'VE DONE"! She can't even take responsibility for her own actions. She's immature, selfish, stupid, careless, and an alcholic!!! She deserves to sit in jail for a VERY VERY long time!! Ungrateful little BRAT!!

I agree that she has proven the type of person she is and the type of family she has come from. Unfortunately, the victim's friends and family has to suffer through the process!

I work with the sons of the man this young lady killed. I have witnessed first hand the way this tragedy has affected the lives of so many. Krystal has destroyed not only the family of Mr. Chimal, but her own family and she hasn't the common sense to realize it. Her family and the system have been enabling her to be a habitual law breaker with no consequence. I believe if you think you are old enough to make a decision to drink and then drive, you are old enough to face adult consequence. I hope they throw the book at this young lady and teach her a hard enough lesson that when she finally does get out of jail, she will understand the finality of what she did. Maybe then will she actually appreciate the gift of life that she has taken away from another human being. May God have mercy on her soul, because here on earth the general consensus seems to be pure detestation for her...

As another blogger commented on another teen drunken driving story stated, Maybe a night or two in a morgue with people killed by drunk drivers will wake them up! Especially in this case.

The only remorse these people have is not for the victim of their thoughtless act, but in fact for them having been caught. I know a man sitting in prison right now for vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated who to this day believes that the person he killed should not have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sad, but true. This young lady may have had some underlying factors that make her behave this way, but that is no excuse for what she did, and continued to do until they locked her up. When will people take responsibility for their actions?

I remember in the last blog when it was 1st posted, there were lots of comments by her "friends" saying we shouldn't judge her that she is a good person, well she is proving all those people wrong. A good person would have sucked it up, learned from her mistake, instead she goes out and drinks and drives again. Lets see how many "friends" defend her actions again.. If they do they are just as at fault as she is for thinking that it's ok because she got away with murder.
Sorry for the RANTING but this make me sick!!!!!

You have got to be KIDDING!!!! Pleading not guilty the Judge should put her in jail like the rest of the Murders.. Because that what it is...Do not pass go and Collect a GET OUT OF JAIL Card..How many times does she have to do this before our Court system kicks in. I have a 16yr old and Yes i would feel the same way. Her bail should be set higher. Maybe then her parents will get her the IN PATIENT Treatment she needs. I hope at her trial the Court room will be busting at the seams with the family of the person she killed and Community members that Don't want to be killed by her...

That sounds like a good idea,BUT,that will not happen for some time. First off she will have to admit she has a problem, before she can ever have a chance of a normal life!

woodsman, I remember the blogs in the first article from people all over defending her the FIRST time around saying that she had learned her lesson! Well, Obviously she didn't learn a thing after a SECOND and THIRD time around getting caught! I agree totally that ten thousand dollars bail is to small for a repeat offender like this. And to plead "Not guilty" on those charges, Come on, Please????? I understand your innocent until proven guilty in a court of law and she has her right to a day in court but this is rediculous. It's a good thing no one else was seriously hurt or killed the other 2 times. She needs extensive professional help and some way to never to drink again. Maybe send her around for quite sometime to come to schools of her peers and present her story and pictures of that faitful night for others to listen to and learn from. Maybe then kids will learn the dangers of underaged drinking and driving and more lives will be saved. One can only hope. God help her and us all!

They should've made her bail 500,000.00,to make sure her enabler family has NO chance of bailing her out,to KILL again!!! I am glad to hear she IS in jail, there are more people out there that need to be somewhere paying their dues to society, their remorse lasts about as long as it takes to get another drunk on. And to ALL you bleeding hearts out there, she is getting her help right now,IN JAIL!!!!!
