WCLO's Steve Benton reports on mock elections in Janesville schools

RSS

— Parker High School AP Government teacher, Joe VanRooy, says students will take on the roles of the presidential candidates this month and hold rallies at various schools.

VanRooy says students must do a lot of back ground research to play their roles. He says the mock elections get students involved with the process, and with their families, because they talk about the issues with their parents and friends.

VanRooy says past presidential elections have mirrored the mock elections held in Janesville.

The students will talk about their preparations on WCLO's Stan Milam show October 22nd at 11 a.m. The mock elections will be held October 28th.
