Big weekend planned in Beloit

A weekend of events in Beloit will blend the old with the new.

Heritage Days beginning Friday will embrace the past with tours of historical sites like the Rasey House, Bechman Mill, and Logan Museum of Anthropology. Visit Beloit Director Martha Mitchell says another event will embrace eco-friendly cars. Mitchell says a hybrid car rally of sorts will promote "hypermiling". Mitchell says many hybrid car clubs are in the area and will assemble for programs at 11:00 O'clock Saturday morning at Beloit's Vision Center on Public Avenue. The group will also tour local eco-friendly sites.

Heritage Days lasts through Sunday.
