WCLO's Stan Stricker reports on CNN News broadcasts from Milton

RSS

A national news organization broadcasts live from Rock county.

The area and entire state are getting a lot of attention lately, thanks to presidential campaign visits, and the economic impact of a soon to close General Motors plant. Following these stories, CNN News stopped at Meyer's Farm Market in Milton for some live broadcasts Sunday. Cindy Meyer says the CNN crew saw the Meyer's "Giant Pumpkin"...atop the silo...from the interstate. The backdrop was apparently just what CNN was seeking. Meyer says CNN did several live television reports with the farm machinery and scenic fields in the background. She says they even gave a tour of the bus. This type of attention to the "Pumpkin" isn't as surprising to Meyer as you might think. They get a lot of people from all over the midwest stopping by and even sending letters.

The "Pumpkin" has been an eye popping landmark since 2004.
