Rock County voter turnout for Tuesday's primary election was a dismal six percent.
County Clerk Lori Stottler says it appears to be a statewide trend, with Dane County recording similar numbers. Stottler had predicted voter turnout at closer to 20 percent based on the amount of interest in the presidential campaign and previous primaries.
Stottler says the Town of Fulton had a very high voter turnout with more than 700 voters casting ballots. She says the election was kind of of a nice break for clerks across the county to use security measures put in place by the Government Accountability Board and get ready for the November election.
