WCLO's Steve Benton reports on the Stateline United Way campaign goal

RSS

— The Stateline United Way campaign fund raising team says this year's goal is $1.4 million.

Campaign Chair, Dale Reeves, says that's higher than last year, and considering the economy, is a bold move. But Reeves says they did their homework before deciding on the figure by talking with company officials.

Reeves says an early positive sign is a huge boost from pace-setter companies. They have already collected 21% of the goal.

The "Day of Caring" has been linked to the United Way kick-off for several years now and it's popularity is growing. Reeves says over 300 volunteers committed themselves to work on community service projects Wednesday.
