JANESVILLE — A January trial is possible for the man accused of robbing a teenage couple and raping the girl nearly a year ago in Janesville.

Kenneth D. Jarrett, 21, Janesville, is charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault and two counts of armed robbery stemming from the attack on the couple on the edge of Monterey Park on Sept. 28.

In court Thursday, Jarrett’s lawyer, Joshua Klaff, told Judge James Daley that his client was ready for trial, which probably would take two to three days. The earliest date for such a trial before Daley is in January, but no date was scheduled Thursday.

Jarrett robbed the couple at knifepoint and then assaulted the girl in two different ways, according to the criminal complaint.
