Beloit school board names new superintendent

Beloit has a new superintendent of schools.

The school board named Milton B. Thompson as the school district's new leader. Thompson currently serves as the Director of Title I, Bilingual, Summer School and P-5 programs for the Kenosha Unified School District.

He has signed a contract, effective July 1, which includes an annual salary of $140,000.

Current Superintendent Lowell Holtz has resigned as of June 30. Recently, Holtz make an unsuccessful bid for State Superintendent of Public Instruction.
