BELOIT — Milton Thompson did some house hunting in Beloit Thursday.

He's getting ready to begin his new duties as Beloit Superintendent July 1st. He says he's very excited about this move because he believes Beloit is a city experiencing a renaissance.

Thompson is currently an administrator with the Kenosha Unified School District and oversees the operations of several schools. He's also responsible for the federally mandated "no child left behind" program and is a facilitator for the district's strategic plan. He says he bring to Beloit a number of things including his leadership skills. He says he's also good at working with people, and is a creative problem solver with a sense of humor.

Thompson says he told Beloit school board members that he would like to stay in Beloit until he retires, which he hopes is in about ten to 12 years.
