Since the article doesn't give the childs age, it's hard to come to any conclusion. A child could be from 17 on down.

I read the article, donkeykong. I mean, if you could call three sentences an article.
Again, I don't know how anyone could interpret anything from this.

When I was young (15) -I dated an 18 yr. old for 3 years.. I hate to see what this would do to this fella if it was consensual.. Registered sex offender for life and more.. I am on the fence on some of that stuff..

Honestly, I have to agree. There isn't much TO this "article".
I don't even READ consentual into it. Guess my mind just doesn't work that way.

simon: Second-degree SEXUAL assault statutes state the victim is under the age of 16, thus age 15 or under. Non-sexual assault statutes are what you are referring to I think. This victim would have to be 15 years or less to fit the charge stated in the article.

Anybody else notice the "drinking alcohol" part? Last I knew, that would be illegal at 19.

A second degree assault charge is not made only if the person is 15, they could other "teens" too...16, 17, 18, 19...and a guy could be charged with that degree of assault. It may have to do with the manner in which the alleged crime was committed.

At this age it is often "consensual" in the practical sense, but still illegal. And this one even fails the "half your age plus seven" rule.

According to Wisconsin state statutes, the girl would have to be age 15 or younger to fit the charge of second-degree sexual assault. Somebody 19 years old should know that a 15-year-old is not mature enough to give true consent.

How in the heck can you get that it was consensual from three sentences? Give me a break.
