WCLO's Stan Stricker reports on need for recent heavy rains

RSS

Many gardeners in Rock County welcomed the recent heavy rains after a long stretch of cool and dry weather.

U-W Extension Horticulture Educator Mike Maddox at Rotary Gardens in Janesville says plants were running about two weeks behind this season. He says the rains will help, but could force some fruit to swell so quickly, it will split.

He says this shouldn't be a problem as long as gardeners are watchful.
