Beloit school board faces tough issues
BELOIT Beloit's school board president is laying out priorities for the coming school year. On top of Mike Ramsdail's list is getting three new top administrators up to speed.
He says new this year are Superintendent Milt Thompson, Director of Human Resources, Todd Cabelka, and Director of Business Services, Jim Weise.
The 2010-11 budget is the next item on the list. Ramsdail says creating a new spending plan will be tough because they're looking at more cuts. The board cut nearly $4 million from the 2009-10 budget and Ramsdail wouldn't be surprised to look at another $1 million in cuts. The difficulty, according to Ramsdail, is they're at the point of eliminating programs.
Other issues include dealing with escalating health care costs and the task of re-evaluating the district's strategic plan.

Another example of wasteful and bloated administrative positions. Why don't we cut one of them? (I wonder how much they make, and how their salaries compare to the average teacher's wages?) That they all appear to be male adds another layer to the issue.
