Rock Around the Block is Aug. 29
JANESVILLE — Rock Around the Block will be from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, at the parking lot on the corner of Wall Street and Parker Drive and in front of the United Way building, 205 N. Main St.
Enjoy outdoor band stages, sponsored by Angus Young and Associates and Blackhawk Community Credit Union and in association with Gray’s Brewing.
Indoor stages that will host bands performing at this year’s event are: Main Street Saloon, Legends Sports Bar, Time Out Pub & Eatery, The Looking Glass and Quotes, all in the north block of Main Street, and Wiggy’s Saloon on Parker Drive, downtown. These businesses also help sponsor the event.
Other attractions that are sponsored by Janesville Leisure Services are a Guitar Hero Tournament and other fun games for children. Local businesses and nonprofit organizations will have food available for purchase, and a Battle of the Bands, sponsored by Madison Media Institute, will take place.
Businesses and individuals can still send contributions for this free event to Rock Around the Block, c/o Consigny, Andrews, Hemming & Grant, 303 E. Court St., Janesville, WI 53545. Volunteers can sign up to help staff the event at gazlo.com/blockparty.

THANK YOU to all the volunteers who organize and provide all the behind-the-scenes effort on behalf of all Janesville for a great event with astounding music, fun entertainment, bringing people back downtown to become "community"...and hopefully, pleasant weather, too :-)
