Economic development is a hot topic in Janesville.
The City Council has met in closed session at least six times this summer to discuss negotiation of terms and conditions for tax increment finance district agreements. The city has also just hired a new economic development director. Assistant City Manager Jay Winzenz says given Janesville's current economic situation, it's more important than ever that the city has an active economic development program to help residents find jobs.
The City Council meets in closed session again Monday to discuss negotiations for two TIF districts.
