Authorities have arrested the suspect in a Thursday slashing incident in LaGrange Township.

Martin J. Nelson, 22, of W6577 Kettle Moraine Drive, was arrestedat 11:15 a.m. in Whitewater, said Office Capt. Scott McClory, of the Walworth County Sheriff's Office.

According to Walworth County Sheriff's Office officials, Nelson cut the throat of a 60-year-old man who also lives at the residence.

The victim was treated at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn and transported to Froedtert Hospital Wauwatosa, where he is listed in satisfactory condition.

The suspect fled on foot.

The sheriff's office placed automated telephone calls to homes in the area this morning alerting residents the the suspect is on the loose. There was also a coordinated search, including K-9 units and ground and air support.
