Cougars slip past Beloit Snappers

GENEVA, ILL. — A one-out, bases-loaded single in the 10th inning left the visiting Beloit Snappers with a 4-3 loss to the Kane County Cougars in Midwest League baseball Monday night.

Beloit sent the game into the extra inning when pinch-runner Adan Severino scored from third with two outs on a wild pitch to tie the game at 3-3. The Snappers’ Jeff Lanning doubled to open the inning.

Beloit reliever Steve Blevins (3-5) took the loss, allowing one run on four hits—three in the 10th—through the final 1 1/3 innings.

The Snappers had eight hits, including a 3-for-5 performance and two RBIs from Jim Beresford.
