Police: Burglary connected to heroin
MILTON Milton police arrested an eighth person in connection with a rash of burglaries and thefts over the last few months.
Eric L. Reents, 19, of 436 Woodcrest Lane, Milton, was arrested at 4:45 p.m. Sunday on a charge of burglary relating to a Jan. 14 burglary in the 400 block of Woodcrest Lane, Milton. A videogame system was stolen in the incident, according to a news release from the Milton Police Department.
The investigation also led to the arrest Wednesday of Kenneth E. Wood, 22, of 5421 N. Newville Road, Milton on a charge of receiving stolen property, the release said.
Police in January arrested seven Milton and Edgerton residents on charges that they worked together to break into homes and steal from unlocked vehicles to support heroin and marijuana habits.
Milton Police Chief Jerry Schuetz said he believes Reents knows the other suspects but did not conspire with them. He said the Jan. 14 burglary also appears to be heroin-related.
Police still are seeking suspects in the theft and burglary incidents, he said.

Really don't see the evidence that it was heroine related.

I know both Erik and Kenny and this doesn't surprise me one bit. Maybe they should get an education and do something with their lives.

Of course there is heroin-related crime in Janesville -- read the public record. This was just a major ring that was busted in one swell foop. You don't often get that, you mostly get individuals trying to support a habit.

No, unknown, you cannot legally shoot someone once they are in your house. You would be arrested unless you could prove that it was necessary to shoot them to protect you or your family.

Yea I'm pretty sure the string of burglaries from January were drug related. I know a few of the people that were caught and they've been doing drugs since i've known them (about 5 years) but they were never into heroin. pills seem to have been wiped off the streets but heroin is ever so near!
I feel like I know so many good kids that are complete heroin users/abusers and will do ANYTHING to get their high! I can think of at least 6 people that I know who have shot their lives down their blood vessels. Its so sad...
I haven't heard too much about burglaries in janesville being heroin related but that string of burglaries in milton - almost all those kids went to MIlton High School!!!!!!
The two kids in this case went to MILTON HIGH SCHOOL as well!

Is it only in milton that the burglaries are heroin (drug) related? I dont see that in any Janesville burglaries and IMO I just have an suspicion they might be in at least 1 or 2 of them. Do you think that the 2 men in the arrests report that went in and took that purse were taking the purse to have one in style? Or to pay their rent/bills. Just curious.
