— A sex offender is being released from prison Monday and will be placed at the Rock Valley Correctional Facility, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office announced.

The facility is the old Caravilla Nursing Home at 203 Sunny Lane between Beloit and Janesville.

Benjamin F. Markley III, 38, is a former Janesville resident. He was convicted in Illinois in 2003 of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a 13-year-old girl and in Rock County in 2007 of possession of child pornography.

Markley is to have no unsupervised contact with minors. He is not to consume alcohol or drugs or enter bars or liquor stores and is to have no contact with the victim. He also must cooperate with electronic monitoring and comply with all requirements and be a lifetime registrant of the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registration Program.

Yup, that made me sick. They tried to justify it by saying its in two counties and they are split up by some river. But who cares. There were still 40 sex offenders within 'X' amount of miles. Totally makes me sick.

that works they can stay on their island i like that idea then no one would have to worry about their children being taken. did any of you read about the little girl who was taken and she had 40 pediphiles living around her

Put them on an island with each other & if they want to violate someone they can just do it to each other :)

i agree all sex offenders are pigs it is a very violent act, but at the same time the things that we are talking about doing to them are just as violent. i think that they should have to be locked away for the rest of their lives especially repeat offenders, if not in prison then in an isolated area that they can not have contact with anyone

Okay I'm not defending any sex offender here. Once again I am NOT defending any sex offender. Here is my thought....even if you castrate a man he still has the urge to do whatever he wants to do. He can still commit aggravated sexual assault with an object. Sex offenders are not normally thinking with their genitals there is a chemical imbalance in their brain. It's not about 'getting off' its about the satisfaction of controling someone and seeing the fear. At least these are my opinions. And once again I am NOT defending any sex offenders. I think they are pigs.

I think they should develop a transmitter collar with built in camera and taser, for scum like this, so when they comitt to doing something wrong, They can be zapped even to the point of collapse!!!!!!!!!

Note that the Wisconsin conviction was for possession of child porn, not for the seuxal assault. The sentence (following a guilty plea) was originally 8 years probation (from 2004), but after his release from Illinois prison (apparently) it was amended to one year in Wisconsin prison with two years extended supervision and lifetime registration.
.
I would say the Wisconsin sentence is pretty normal for this type of offense, but the Illinois sentence seemed unusually low given the age of the victim.

when is the justice system going to wake up? there is now way, IMO, this pedophile should be out this soon. he didnt even do 2 years this time. This is ridiculous. I agree with those of you saying he will re-offend. Id give it a 90% chance. what has the justice system done to deter him? not a whole lot.

His picture gave me the chills. They say the eyes are the window to the soul, well I see nothing. He looks cold and angry. I can bet he will re-offend also. Chemical castration looks pretty good to me for these offenders!
