The City of Janesville is focusing on diversity, including minority recruitment in the Janesville Police Department.
The Diversity Action Team hopes to extend that focus to other areas of the city.
Jeanne Carfora with the Diversity Action Team is organizing a panel forum with the City Council Thursday to discuss the role of demographics as the city grows. She says she hopes the City Council, Diversity Action Team and YWCA can work together to create an environment in Janesville that's welcoming to minorities.
The forum is at 6:30pm Thursday at the Academy for International Studies, 29 W. Milwaukee St.
