Two suspected in abuse of 3-year-old

JANESVILLE — Police arrested two Janesville residents Friday after EMTs found a 3-year-old girl bruised and unconscious, according to police reports.
Stephanie A. Witt, 21, and Norbert C. Cantu, 28, both of 922 Suffolk Drive, Janesville, were arrested at the Janesville Police Department. Witt was arrested on a charge of recklessly causing great bodily harm to a child and Cantu on a charge of physical abuse to a child.
They are accused in the injuring a 3-year-old girl, who had bruises near her right ear, on her right temple and her legs and torso, according to police reports. Further bruising indicated the girl had been choked.
Witt and Cantu were released from police custody with a court date.
