Sustainable recommendations ready for Janesville City Council
The Sustainable Janesville Committee is ready to send six recommendations about the city's comprehensive plan to the Janesville City Council.
Committee Chair Tom McDonald says the committee wants to investigate population, housing and employment forecast numbers in the draft plan. He says Janesville has faced a lot of changes since the plan process started a couple of years ago. The committee is making other recommendations about farmland preservation and eco-municipalities guidelines.
City staff members are working to determine how the recommendations will be presented to the city council. The committee previously requested the council delay adoption of the plan, but the council has not acted on that request. The city's plan commission approved the draft plan before the recommendations from the Sustainable Janesville Committee.
