Spartans stay perfect
HIGHLAND, Mo. Jeronne Maymon broke loose for 28 points to lift top-ranked Madison Memorial (9-0) to a 65-62 victory over LaFayette (Mo.) in the Highland Shootout in Highland, Mo., on Saturday.
Maymon, who grabbed 16 rebounds, scored 11 points in the third quarter to give Memorial a 45-43 lead it kept the rest of the way.
Tyler Griffey, a 6-foot-8 University of Illinois recruit, scored 21 for Lafayette. Vander Blue chipped in 17 for Memorial.
