With warnings of a "deep arctic freeze" this week, local officials advise Rock County residents to be prepared.

Rock County Emergency Management Coordinator Shirley Connors says residents should bundle up, even if going out for just a little while. She says use common sense and take extra precaution when traveling because ice could come with the dangerous wind chills.

She also reminds that pets shouldn't be outside very long, wipe snow off them immediately, and keep them away from ice melt.
